REMEMBERING Tom Basista

26TH AUGUST 1984 – 31ST JANUARY 2024

Our beloved Tom Basista died peacefully in St. Thomas’ Hospital, London on 31st January 2024, shortly after contracting an Invasive Group A Strep bacterial infection.

Tom was just 39 years old.

To all of us Tom was unique with so much to give and so much to live for.

We are truly heartbroken by this tragic loss. He leaves behind his two children Theodore (7) and Lola (2 months) as well as his partner of 11 years, Cicelia, sister Rose and parents Alice and Jacek.

We are all in shock. Life without Tom is unimaginable.

Tom’s funeral will take place at West Norwood Crematorium, Norwood Road, London SE27 9JU on Friday 8th March 2024 at 2pm. We will gather at the entrance gates at 1.40pm and walk up to the crematorium together behind Tom’s hearse. Anyone elderly or with mobility issues can follow the walking procession in their own vehicle, and park at the top of the drive by the crematorium.

We have been overwhelmed by the amount of love for Tom, and know how many of you want to join us at his funeral to pay your respects. Unfortunately the chapel only has room to seat 100 people. We will try to accommodate as many people as possible, but there won’t be room for everyone. The service will be livestreamed so if you can’t be inside the chapel with us, you can find a quiet place in the cemetery grounds and watch the livestream using your device and headphones, or alternatively watch at home.

After the funeral, we’ll gather at The Portico Gallery, 23B Knights Hill, West Norwood SE27 0HS to celebrate Tom over music, food and drink until 8pm.
