REMEMBERING

JUDE UNA CLARKSON WACHTER

28 MARCH 2008 – 20 NOVEMBER 2024

Jude Una Clarkson Wachter

Our precious Jude/Una died on Wednesday 20th November 2024.

Named Una at birth, this was a time of transition for them. Jude was the name they had chosen for themselves in recent years, but they weren’t yet ready to be Jude to all. Among the many who love them without reservation are those who knew them as Una, those who knew them as Jude and those who knew them as both.

Two names, one rare, beautiful human we miss beyond measure.

The funeral will take place in the Conservatory at the Horniman Museum & Gardens on Tuesday 17th December 2024 at 1:00 PM. So many people knew and loved our Jude/Una, and we would like everyone to know how very welcome they are to join us. Your presence and care gives us courage for the future.

After the funeral service, we’ll gather in the Conservatory to share stories and memories over food and drink. We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response and sadly won’t be able to welcome anyone else to join us for refreshments, other than the people who have already filled in the RSVP form. Please know everyone is still welcome to join us for the service.

Although the Conservatory is heated, it can get cold, so please ensure you’re wrapped up warm with suitable layers.

The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person.

Please make sure to RSVP using the form below so that we know how many to expect.

Please arrive at the Horniman by 12:45 PM for a prompt 1:00 PM start. Parking in Forest Hill around the Horniman is extremely limited so please use public transport if possible. If you’re travelling by car, please see Parkopedia for parking suggestions. If you arrive early, please take some time to see the gardens, or have a coffee in the cafe.

Come as you are – there’s no dress code. Head-to-toe black, a pair of rainbow trousers, odd socks, school uniform, your grandmother’s pearls, utility kilt… please wear whatever feels right to you.

Jude/Una will be laid to rest in a private committal ceremony the following day in the Oxfordshire countryside.

Please accept our most sincere thanks for your heartfelt words and all your acts of kindness. We have been so comforted by the outpouring of love and support over the last few weeks.

Donations
Flowers are a lovely gesture, but we’d appreciate donations in Jude/Una’s memory to organisations that they supported, Transactual, Southwark Copwatch and Young Roots.

RSVP
Please RSVP using the form below, so the family know if you’ll be attending the funeral or watching the funeral via the livestream.

We have been overwhelmed with responses and won’t be able to welcome anyone else to join us for refreshments, but please do come for the service.

(Please RSVP even if you have already made your intentions known to a family member so as to better assist with planning).
