Funerals in the Pavilion at the Horniman Museum & Gardens

Funerals in the Pavilion at the Horniman Museum & Gardens

THE Pavilion

The bright and airy Pavilion is a contemporary venue which includes a large outside terrace overlooking the Gardens. It’s the perfect alternative to a crematorium, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of daily life in the gardens.

It is a bright and airy space with floor to ceiling windows which fold back to give full access to a large private terrace overlooking the London skyline.

Situated in a corner of the Gardens near Horniman Drive, the Pavilion has hilltop views across the Horniman’s landscaped Gardens and a unique view of the Animal Walk.

HOW IT WORKS

We will liaise with the events team at the Horniman to find a suitable date and time for the funeral to take place.

The funeral service will take place in the Pavilion followed by a committal at a nearby crematorium (Honor Oak or West Norwood), a cemetery or a natural burial ground. You can choose whether you’d like to attend the committal, or if you’d prefer to stay at the Horniman for the wake. You can also hold the wake at another venue after the service, if you’d prefer.
